Teppichscheune: every page in 0.8 instead of 5 seconds
High-resolution rug photos are the heart of the shop – and were its biggest brake. With our image pipeline they now weigh a fraction, with no visible loss of quality.
The starting point
Teppichscheune sells made-to-measure rugs on Shopware 6. Customers buy with their eyes: texture, colour and pile have to be clearly visible. Product photos weighed around 800 KB on average, and every page took 5 seconds.
On mobile, visitors decide within seconds whether to stay. Every second of waiting costs conversions – and with paid traffic, ad budget too. On top of that, Google rates load time through the Core Web Vitals.
The challenge
The photos had to keep their full quality, just get much lighter. On top of that, the custom, complex filters had to respond without any delay.

What we did
Every custom, complex filter pre-cached – lightning-fast selection.
Why it works: Pages are cached on servers close to the visitor and delivered from there instantly, instead of being rebuilt by the shop system on every request.

The photos still show every texture and colour – they are just around ten times lighter. Filters respond without any delay.
